October focus: becoming citizens
According to our recent survey, more than 60% of our panel are thinking about applying for citizenship of the EU country they live in.
For October we are asking panellists, whether they are thinking about applying for citizenship elsewhere in the EU27 or not, to help us understand more about what citizenship means to them. Some questions we’ve asked them to think about are:
What does citizenship mean to you? What would it mean to change your citizenship or to take dual nationality?
What do you know about the process of applying for dual nationality/citizenship in the country you live?
If you have started or completed this process of becoming a citizen of another nation-state, can you explain your reasons and describe your experience?
Panellists can send us their thoughts in writing, as Sue did. Or they can make us a video, a voice recording, even send us a letter. We’ve also asked if they could include links to any official advice they’ve found helpful. You can download a copy of the October Directive here. If you are a Brit living or working in the EU and would like to find our more, or want to volunteer to share your stories, experiences, feelings, hope, doubts, insecurities, and insights, please fill out the contact form and we will be in touch:
